While beginning to get ready to leave Long Beach on this gorgeous 68 degree day in the middle of January, I decided to walk down to the next jetty to my right as I could see a lot of powerful action in the ocean. This was being caused by the waves climbing and the wind gusts taking the waves and attempting to push them back. You could see the tops of the white caps on the waves as seen in this photo being sprayed backwards off of the wave. At the same time I noticed the sun was reflecting on the ocean and the beach and part of a jetty was still showing as the high tide was moving in. At this point I wanted to capture a little of everything and focused my camera on part of the sun and captured it setting, along with the sun's reflection, the jetty in a silhouette image and the crashing waves on the surf as they fought with powerful wind gusts.
