Upon first arriving at Long Beach located on the south shore of Long Island on this spring like day in the middle of January I stood behind the first jetty I came to and watched all of the seagulls sitting a top of this jetty covered in seaweed. Out past the jetty which was quickly getting covered up by the rising tide, the waves were curling and rising in height. As they rose they would curl and crash right down on the surf, as the undertow would take out the ocean only to build a bigger wave. I had just gotten to Long Beach and I could already tell that the ocean was going to getting rougher and rougher as the day went on.
