As a birthday present this past August my children bought me a ticket to go on a sightseeing tour on a helicopter of Manhattan. My oldest daughter accompanied me on the ride as we left on the Queens side of New York. The next thing I knew we were flying past the Statue of Liberty and we were very close, I was able to get some excellent photos of the Statue of Liberty. Then we made our way up the East River with Manhattan on our left side. We passed over several bridges and got to the end of lower Manhattan Island were if you looked down you could see the Staten Island Ferries going back and forth from Manhattan to Staten Island. Next we pulled right at the bottom of Manhattan Island and hovered for about a minute. The view was breathtaking, as I could see right in front of me the Freedom Tower and other iconic buildings of Manhattan I was able to get some nice clear images of Freedom Tower and other buildings in the area of lower Manhattan. The two hours went very quick but I enjoyed every minute of it and would suggest taking this trip to anyone. I hope you enjoy this iconic image.
