This past summer for my birthday my children treated me to a surprise by getting me something I always wanted to try and that was tickets on a helicopter ride around Manhattan to see all the sites from a birds eye view. In late August my daughter and myself went to Queens and met the helicopter at the port and got in and took off for Manhattan. I had my camera out from the minute I was locked in my seat aboard the helicopter and ready for anything I may see. As we flew down the path of the East River getting closer to Manhattan we came upon the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island. The Copter slowed down a little to provide us with the opportunity to see Lady Liberty nice and up close. When I put my zoom lense on my camera I felt like I could touch this historical landmark. After several shots the Chopper was off to another destination on his list of things to see in Manhattan. The trip was great and for anyone that ever has the chance I would strongly suggest doing it as it is a great experience.
