On a day that my family had booked a charter boat to go out into the ocean and take in some views of Maui from the ocean our charter was cancelled along with all other boats for that day. Their was a strong storm off the coast out in the ocean and the coastline of Maui was getting hit with swells and strong winds with the winds throwing waves five to six feet into the air. In this picture you can see all of the stong white caps and the waves crashing into the coastline. This was taken from the inlet where the boat would have left. A boat advisory was put out as a precautionary measure until they knew which way the storm was going. For our sake the storm died down overnight and we were ready to board out charter the next day and enjoy Maui from an ocean view.
